"Words"

Searching in the dogma
That surrounds me
No trust
Only that feeling of goodbye
Grasping tightly to hold on
But my mind
And my hands
Are covered with the grease
Of insecurity
I lose my grip and slip
Right through
And fall back into
The same old hole
Disillusioned by my
Expectations
Created in the dark corner
Of my youth
Deep in the phantoms
Of my memories
My release
My only way out
Is the fantasy world
Of writing
Poems and promises
Words...
My words set me free
Forever writing
Forever dreaming

"In the Garden Of My Mind"

In the garden of my mind.
I can grow so many things.
No matter what the season.
Winter, fall, summer, or spring.
Planting seeds of hope and love.
Prayers and promises to God above.
Weeding out the evil seeds.
With kindness, caring, and good deeds.
Never letting evil grow.
Trying to reap the things you sow.
But sometimes it's hard to grow things right.
When your mind is trapped in a long dark night.
And your looking for sunshine and the watering rain.
But you're just stuck in a drought of pain.
You look for help and no ones there.
And your garden is dead and oh so bare.
Turn to God to he will bring the sun.
He will help you get your garden done.
You will reap your harvest and you will find.
Prayers are the seeds.
For the garden of your mind.

"How I Look At Life"

When you get to a point
Where you have given
All you have to give
When you have unselfishly
Shown as much
Kindness, Caring, and Love
That you have in your heart
You can honestly say
I tried my best
The satisfaction for all
You have done
Must come from you
Expecting anything else
From anyone would be selfish
If what you have offered
Seems to be pointless
Do it anyway
The reward will be heaven
God will not let these things
Go unnoticed
He sees the mistakes you have made
And so do you
But no one is perfect
That's why we pray for
Forgiveness
That's why as we get older
Faith becomes so important
You can't fix the mistakes
You have made along life's Journey
But you surely can
Be better then you once were
It's part of the lessons you must learn
So all in all
What you learn along the way
Changes who you are everyday
So be kind, Be caring, give
With all your heart
Show love
And don't expect any of what you
Have given in return
It's nice when it happens
But that alone doesn't make you a better person
But what you choose to give
And how you choose to care
Will always show
Exactly who you are
And exactly how
God sees you

"Writing For Me"

When I write I am free. When I write , I write for me. Satisfaction of a rhyming line. Knowing there me. Knowing there mine. Take me away to the dark side of the moon. Or a warm and breezy day in the middle of June. Sailing away on the ocean tide. Feeling warm and safe inside. No one there to bother me. Or tell me who I should be. I am a king ,a hero or a little boy. Anything that brings me joy. I can take a magic carpet ride. I can be seen or I can hide. I can climb a mountain or fish in a lake I can just be me and not be fake. And I really don't care if anyone sees. Because when I'm writing I'm writing for me

"The Friendship of the Rose and it's Thorns"

When looking at a rose
The flower is the beauty
The thorns look ugly and cause pain
But there is beauty in the thorns
They protect the rose
They sacrifice there self
And they don't care what people
May think of them
They let the beauty of the flower
Shine in all it's glory
Th fragile flower depends on the thorns
For protection
Because without them the flower may never bloom
Kind of like a faithful and undying friendship
I think this was Gods plan when he created the rose
I think he would want us to see
The whole beauty of the rose
And not just the flower
And I think he would want us to see
That beauty can be seen in everything
Just like the friendship of the rose and it's thorns
But we must take the time to see what he wants us to see

"Anna's Stone"

I took a walk one nice spring day.
I found a grave stone along my way.
The stone was old but I could see.
The name "Anna"....1863

Why is this grave here all alone?
Who is buried beneath this stone?
Was she short? Or was she tall?
Was she large? Or was she small?

What was the color of Anna's hair?
Was it dark? Or was it fair?
Was she young? Or was she old?
I wonder if her life's story was told.

Was she a mother? Or a maiden fair?
Does she have anyone left that cares?
Does anyone know where Anna lyes?
Does anyone visit with saddened eyes?

Nothing now is really known.
About this soul beneath the stone.
So I picked a flower on that nice spring day.
Laid it on her grave and walked away.

"Lessons of Life"

As we get older life teaches us many lessons. Don't expect to be loved if someone loves you then there will be no expectations. You will know it. You will feel it. Don't expect to fit in. If people want you around you will know it you will feel it. Never beg anyone for their time. Their choice is theirs if they want to share their time with you then you will know it. You will feel it. Be kind to others. Don't judge them. You know nothing about their lives and what they may have been through. Do what you can to help others and never expect nothing in return. Good deeds are rewarded in heaven. Work through your own problems and issues don't make your problems others problems. If someone cares enough to lend a ear and help you work through things let them help you but don't drag them down with you. Hold on to faith because sometimes that's all you have. Never hold on to things that that use to be because they are gone and you will never have them back again. Cherish the precious memories that were made but don't wish you could have those times back because they will only bring you pain. Ask yourself how you got to where you are today and I think you find the answer to that question is easy. You choose you own destiny by the decisions you have made in your life be they good ones or be they bad ones you are where you are because of you. Never blame others for where you are today. You did that. No one else did. No matter how badly someone may have treated you or no matter how much pain they may have caused you try to forgive them. What ever time you may have left if you must walk the rest of the way with only you then enjoy the simple things that bring a smile to face. A rainbow, A sunset, a campfire, Be with those who choose to be with you and those who want to be a part of your life. If that turns out to be no one God is always there.....:)

"The Power of Prayer"

Does life sometimes just let you down?
And really seem so unfair?
Do you often feel just lost and alone?
Like there's simply nothing there?

For some life seems to be such a struggle.
And you may not feel to strong.
You push so hard to keep on going.
When your road seems lonely and long.

Sometimes the stress and pressure.
Weight so heavy on your mind.
You keep searching for the answer,
And life seems so unkind.

The solution that will change your life.
You can find is always there.
It takes no money or sacrifice.
It's the life restoring power of prayer.

One little prayer from deep in your heart.
Can bring strength and peace from above.
The darkness will flee, the joy will come.
From the power of prayer and love.

"Happy Birthday Mom"

How do I begin to tell you how much I miss you? How do I tell you how much I love you. Everything you done in your life was out of your unconditional love for your children. Your life was very hard you struggled to raise 3 children on your own and give us a life full of love and happiness. You taught me how to have faith and believe in God. You made sure every birthday and holiday there were presents and food on the table and no matter how tired you was after working long hours in the glass factory you always had time to sit with me and tell me stories and give me hugs. We would laugh together and we would cry together happy for each other but afraid of where the next meal would come from or the money to pay the rent. You were beaten and bruised when I was very young and those scars will never heal in my heart of seeing you with black eyes or a bloody nose. I can remember holding ice on you and saying don't cry mommy I will take care of you and you would hug me and smile and tell me how much you loved me. You took us away from the abuse and we all took care of each other. Every time your birthday came around I would make you special cards or buy you something that a few penny's could buy. As I got older and married and had children you gave them that special love that only you could give. If I could just see you just one more time and sit with you and hug you and tell you how much I love you I would give anything for that. But I am here and you are there but I feel your love and kindness every single day of my life and I miss you with all my heart. So Happy Birthday Mom when I see you again we sing song those songs that we use to. We tell each other those stories like we use to. And I will get that hug that always made me feel so safe and secure. Your always in my prayers and your always in my dreams. Thank you for your undying love you gave to me.Happy Birthday

Your Son Danny

"Just Be Who You Are"

Have you ever just dreamed to be who you are?
But afraid to reach out for your own shining star?
Have you ever wished you could sing like a lark?
But you sit all alone, afraid of the dark?
Have you ever just wanted to play like a child?
Or sit on top of a white fluffy cloud?
Have you ever noticed how quickly time flies?
A child is born and then someone dies.
Look deep in your soul, and let yourself dream.
Because things are never as far as they seem.
The fear that we have is always are own.
And the time that we're given is only a loan.
So go back to the time when you where young.
Let the music play loud, let your songs be sung.
Then look up to the heavens and shine like a star.
Your dreams are right here, there not very far.
Just let go of your fears and be who you are...

"I Knocked Upon Your Door"

I knocked up on your door today.
To see if you were there.
I ask you please to let me in.
So I could say prayer.
You told me I don't have to knock.
Just open up the door.
You know your always welcome.
As all the times before.
You ask just what was troubling me?
And you ask what you could do.
I told you that I'd sinned today.
But you already knew.
You told me that life's full of sins.
And you test me everyday.
I ask you to forgive me.
And I ask if I could stay.
You told me that your here for me.
Like all the times before.
But you ask one thing of me.
When I knock upon your door.
You ask if I believe in you?
And if my faith was strong?
You ask me if I knew the difference
In what's right and wrong.
I ask you to forgive me for things I shouldn't do.
I told you that my faith is strong and I believe you.
You smiled and said I love you.
And you sent me on my way.
And you told me I had more to learn.
Before you let me stay.
But you told me to come back again.
When I'm feeling blue.
And you told me to remember
"I hung on the cross for you"

"To Be a Child Again"

I was once a child.
Full of trust, innocent and free.
Now my eyes have opened.
And I can no longer be.

Fair and open minded.
Kind and full of grace.
Loving as I use to.
The entire human race.

I see it all so different now.
Tell me...what has made this so?
This change has been long coming.
What's done it?....I don't know.

Oh to be a child again.
Eyes closed enough to see.
And hope that I might capture love.
And love might capture me.

"Do You Have Time?"

Do you have time to say a prayer?
Do you have time to show you care?
Do you have time to share a smile?
Or stop and talk to me awhile?
Do you have time to watch the sun?
As it's setting when the day is done?
Do you have time for little things?
To whistle and laugh, or even sing?
Do you have time to smell a rose?
Or sit and watch a river flow?
God's gifts are many and you will find.
There all for you if you have the time.

"A Simple Plan"

I wish for wishes on silver dishes.
And dreams on golden platters.
Memories sweet..perfect, complete.
And everything that matters.
Shooting stars and bright sunshine.
Singing songs and nursery rhymes.
Children's laughter, Bedtime prayers.
Talking to the man upstairs.
Golden sunsets, Bright blue skies.
Colors of a rainbow that fill my eyes.
A morning dove.....butterflies.
And everything I've realized.
That God has given me.
Just trying to be a simple man.
Helping others when I can.
And living with a simple plan.
Is what I'm trying do.
Time is precious..It moves on.
One day were here and then were gone.
So look at all these simple things.
And all the joy that life can bring.
Being rich is not about money.
It's a smile...A laugh...or a day that's sunny.

"Find The Things Your Looking for"

I found a sunny day.
But I let it slip away.
I found a grain of sand.
But it slipped right through my hand.
I climbed a mountain to its peak.
Looking for the things I seek.
I found a mirror and in its reflection.
I saw many imperfections.
I search for things that used to be.
And all I found was only me.
I found a sunset bright and red.
But it was gone when I turned my head.
I found a friend and all the things.
That a friendship often brings.
But sometimes friendships slip away.
Deep into your yesterday's.
As you search for all life's things.
Find the song that you must sing.
Make it pleasant to your ears.
And look back through all your years.
And you'll find the things that matter most.
Like the Father, The Son, And The Holy Ghost.

"The course of Life"

Loving, understanding, caring,
Kindness, friendship, sharing,
How could life be more daring?
Dreaming, scheming, talking,
Living, breathing , walking,
Life is forever shocking.
Grief, disappointment , fears,
Moaning , misfortune , tears,
Death clutches to many years.
Confusion, silence, sighing,
Solitude, loneliness , crying,
Living, loving , dying.

"What is love?"

Love is not a conscious action  or a spoken word.
Love is like the sweetest song that I ever heard.
Love is never bitter, hateful, or unkind.
Love is all the happy thoughts that's gentle on your mind.
Love is nothing ,or everything ,a blooming rose ,or the first day of spring.
Love is me, love is you, it's the sun ,or the morning dew.
Love is a thought about someone, or something nice you might have done.
Love is like a bedtime prayer.
Love is saying that you care.
Love is a gentle lalabye, or a tear drop in your eye.
Love is all these things and more.
Love can open any door.

"Scars from My Heart"

Burning tears from my heart leave me restless with in the darkness of the night.
They soak the pillow. My mind tumbles " Regain control, Regain control".
But I am unable to.

The clock ticks upon the far wall exhaustion seeps into my mind, into my soul, slip deeper , deeper into sleep the tears eventually stop. They wait for another day.

Lighting flashes, thunder rumbles within my dreams, tossing and turning nightmares that became reality cause me to cry out, no one hears, no ever heard that little boy I once was.

Pen and paper became my salvation, my sanity. Poetry, Gods gift to me. The years have been long although I am not quite old. I pray, someday I will get the answer, Lines on paper scars from my heart.

"Shattering the Looking Glass"

A mirror reflects the truth.
The self righteous stand before an image of superiority.
Their eyes manipulate their own self worth.
Indulging on a mission of insecurity.
Pressing deeply into the shoulders of others.
Authority obtained by means of intimidation.
The intimidators claim victory.
Calculating minds hunger for power.
Mindless calculators distort the truth.
Confusing intelligence with inferior greed paves a path of desperation.
Defending what is wrong by offending what is right.
Ignorance remains stabile for as long as its supported.
Intimidations climb to the top was swift.
Instability's descent is swifter.
Exposing deceptive builders who saw master carpenters before the looking glass.
Eventually shattering the a fraudulent foundation every step of the way.

"The Ending of the Storm"

Majestic in its stance and stories to be told.
This  barn is more then lumber, this barn is more then old.

The earth beneath is solid, for miles it does span.
With in it grows a future, upon it stands a man.

His heart is filled with glory, but glory ends in pain.
He's built for walls with out a roof, is this shelter from the rain?

The worst is almost over, the clouds are passing by.
Now put the storm behind you, let sunshine fill your sky.

You're merely seeing black and white, you're only feeling blue.
Your rainbows deep inside you, trying to break through.

For every bolt of lighting, the trees draw back in fear.
Although they seem untouchable, they're not what they appear.

Fright is not our secret, it's weakness that we hide.
Weary and defenseless, it tears us up inside.

Now look across the acres, now focus on the view.
Your life is full of wonders, it's every part of you.
