Megan's Final Christmas Wish

There was this little girl around the age of 9 her name was Megan and she was diagonsed with a rare but fatal cancer....When she was 8 years old and it was Christmas time she was fine at that point and there where no signs of the cancer yet....That Christmas Megan her mom and her dad had the most wonderful Christmas...They decorated the Christmas tree and they decorated all around her house and they put a big Santa Claus out in her front yard....Megan made her Christmas wish list for Santa that year and on that list was just one thing....She wished for a little brother....Mom took her list that Christmas and was shocked to see there were no toys on it....Only a wish for a little brother...She showed Megan's Christmas wish to her father and he smiled....Christmas came that year and Megan got many toy's but not a little brother...She told her mom that Christmas morning about her wish and she ask her why Santa brought her all these toy's but no little brother....Her mom told her that sometimes Christmas wishes take awhile to come true....Soon after the holiday's that year Megan's mom started getting sick in the morning's so she went to the doctor...At that doctor's visit Megan's mom found out she was going to have a baby...And the baby would come around Christmas time....Megan's mom rushed home to tell her and Megan'd father the new's....Megan was so happy to hear that she might have the little brother she had wished for...A few weeks went by and Megan's mom got a call from her school....The nurse at the school said that Megan is very sick and very dizzy and she can't stand up....Megan's mom rushed to school and got Megan and took her to the hospital...The doctor's there examined Megan and took some of her blood...a few days had passed after doing many test's on Megan she was well enough to come home from the hospital...A few day's after Megan came home from the hospital her mom and dad found out the new's of Megan's cancer...It was a very rare and very aggressive type of cancer and they only gave Megan until Christmas of that year to live...Megan became very sick and her parents were very sad and they cried alot...As that Christmas drew near Megan's mom and dad began to decorate the Christmas tree...Megan was to sick to help so she watched...Her mom and dad tried to hold back the tears as they placed there Christmas bulbs and memories on the Christmas tree...Her mom reached into the box of Christmas ornaments and grabbed a bulb and at the same time a piece of note paper fell to the floor...Megan's mom began to cry very hard and it made Megan very sad...The bulb she had taken from the box was a bulb with a picture of Megan her mom and her dad and it said "Christmas Memories" on it...The piece of paper that fell to the floor was Megan's Christmas wish for Santa to bring her a little brother...Megan did not see the note she wrote fall to the floor and her mom hurried up and grabbed it and placed it back in the box...That night before bed Megan wrote her final Christmas wish and this is what she wrote..."Dear Santa"...... I am very sick this year...and I am too sick to play with toy's so please don't bring any toy's to me...All I want this year is to see my little brother and I want to have a picture taken of me and him and mommy and daddy that we can put on a Christmas bulb so that mommy will smile and not cry anymore..."Love Megan".....That night Megan's mom took her to bed and tucked her in and Megan handed her mom her Christmas wish...and told her "Mommy I wished for something to make you smile"....As Megan'e mom left her room she read the note that Megan had written....Before she went to bed that night she prayed and ask God to please give Megan her Christmas wish....The next day Megan became very ill and there was only one week left until Christmas...Megan's mom and dad decided they would not take Megan to the hospital in her final days...They wanted her last Christmas to be at home...Also her mom would have the baby at home so that she could be with Megan in her final days....As Christmas Eve came Megan's mom went into labor Megan was with her but she was very ill....As her mom gave birth to her little brother the nurse placed the baby boy beside Megan on the bed....Megan looked at her little brother and smiled and Megan's mom and dad smiled too..Megan was very happy to see her mom and dad smile and to have her Christmas wish of a little brother from the year before....A few hours after the birth of her Little brother Megan passed away....as her mom and dad held her one last time they realized they had forgotten to take the picture that Megan wanted....When they removed the blanket from Megan soon after her death they noticed a piece of paper gripped tightly in her hand...as her mom opened the folded piece of paper she cried....It was another note that Megan had written to Santa and this is what the note said...."Dear Santa" I know sometimes it takes awhile for a Christmas wish to come true...But I am very sick and just in case I'm not here to take a picture with mommy and daddy and my little brother could you please make sure they get this note from me...And on that note Megan had drawn a picture of all 4 of them with a smile on their face...Her mom and dad took that note and they had Megan's word's and the little picture she had drawn put on a Christmas bulb..and at the very top of that bulb they put "Megan's final Christmas wish"...and they hang that bulb on their Christmas tree every year next to the one that said "Christmas Memories" of Megan her mom and her dad...as Christmas draws near my Christmas wish for everyone is for Joy and peace and most of all for love of family....Merry Christmas a little early......~Dan~
